Workshop on ML&AI for eHealth
The University of the West of Scotland is hosting an online workshop to highlight the recent advances of AI&ML-based technologies in digital healthcare. Experts from academia and industry will share insights about ongoing research in eHealth from the AI&ML perspective and the current challenges that will pave the way for future directions of research and development in the field. This workshop also includes interactive sessions which will help the audience gain hands-on experience on the AI&ML algorithms in the digital healthcare solutions.

Naeem Ramzan
Title of presentation: Applications of AI/ML in eHealth
Position: Professor of AI, Director of Affective and Human Computing for Smart Environment

Short Bio: NAEEM RAMZAN (Senior Member, IEEE) received the M.Sc. degree in telecommunications from the University of Brest, France, in 2004, and the Ph.D. degree in electronics engineering from the Queen Mary University of London, London, U.K., in 2008. He is currently a Full Professor of artificial intelligence and the Director of the Affective and Human Computing for Smart Environment (AHCSE) Research Centre, University of the West of Scotland (UWS), U.K.
Qammer Abbasi
Title of presentation: Contactless and Nanoscale enabled Future Healthcare
Summary: The talk will provide overview of ongoing research on contactless Sensing for remote monitoring in University of Glasgow. In addition, a brief overview of ongoing activities on future healthcare Paradigm at nano scale will be presented as well.

Short Bio: Dr Abbasi is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) with the James Watt School of Engineering, University of Glasgow, U.K., deputy head for Communication Sensing and Imaging group, Program Director for Dual PhD Degree, Co-Manager for RF and terahertz laboratory and research investigator with Scotland 5G Center Urban testbed.

Short Bio: Felix is an entrepreneur and expert in machine learning and artificial intelligence for digital health and precision medicine. He got PhD in machine learning from the University of Edinburgh; received “best paper” and “10-year-test-of-time” awards in applied AI; and co-founded scientific companies.
