We are higher education institutions, public health administrations, SMEs, start-ups, and health business consultants and entrepreneurs with complementary backgrounds from several European cities.
La Salle – Universitat Ramon Llull (URL) aims to transfer i) knowledge to the students who join its educative programs, ii) human resources to the society through the incorporation of its graduates to the companies, iii) the latest technological advances to create value in those places where they would be useful and necessary, as well as iv) companies created by the Technological Innovation and Business Park. LaSalle core educational programs are related to ICT (Smart Cities and IoT, Cybersecurity, Big Data, etc.) and eHealth. All these programs will be integrated in ATHIKA to enhance interdisciplinary education.
The University of Tartu (UT) belongs to the top 2% of the world’s best universities, is currently contributing as a partner to 31 Erasmus+ “Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices” and has extensive academic contacts and collaborative research projects with universities worldwide. Centre for Ethics, University of Tartu will lead WP5 – Governance and ethics of health tech – and contribute towards other two planned courses in cooperation with their leads. It will bring on board our extensive experience in interdisciplinary teaching and research on the ethical, social and legal aspects of technologies. It has worked for years on the ELSA (ethical, legal and social aspects) of medical technologies from e-health solutions to biobanks, participating in International (from EU’s Framework Programm 4 to Horizon2020) as well as locally funded projects.
UWS has vast experience on teaching and research. The UWS team leading five very relevant master programmes at UWS namely MSc Advanced Computing, MSc BigData, MSc IoT, and MSc eHealth. Moreover, UWS has a large scale data centre designed with cloud infrastructure, from which the Mobile Edge computing platform (networking) provides excellent facilities for WP4. This is the only large scale data centre in the public university domain. In addition, UWS team will exploit his experience to design and develop industry driven Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics training course focused on health sector. The UWS team has vast experience in industrial collaboration in past and the UWS was ranked 2nd in Knowledge Exchange Transfer (KTP) activities in the Scotland and the team will exploit these results to efficiently deliver the project.
Technopolis Group (TG) icolleagues are undoubtedly experts with a track record dating back a quarter of a century (since the establishment in 1989) in providing on policy advice, programming support and evaluation in over 40 countries. Technopolis brings to this project an ample experience with strategic support at any point in the policy cycle for organisations active in the domain of Health and digitalisation with a good topical knowledge of health policies and practices which will be necessary to develop Health Innovation Framework and Multisectorial analysis.
MCRIT/Multicriteria is an engineering and planning company with a clear research orientation that will bring its long-term experience collaborating with academia and training courses, and will contribute to improve educational activities and to ensure the sustainability of the project services and the rapid and wide adoption of the latter beyond the project’s lifetime and the EC funding. In addition, it will especially contribute with its expertise in defining cross-sectorial collaborative framework (e.g. healthcare and smart cities services), identification of challenges especially in the urban/mobility dimension to achieve the expected goals of smart city such as social inclusion and conviviality, high quality of life, sustainability, and efficiency, where technology has a role as an enabler.
Fundació TIC Salut Social is a public agency within the Catalan Department of Health whose aim is to facilitate the transformation of health and social care models by means of Information, Communication and Technology (ICTs) and to ensure the sustainability of the current healthcare model by fostering deployment of m-Health and e-Health solutions. FTSS’s strategy is focused on eHealth and mHealth to improve healthcare processes, in order to ensure conformity with current standards to guarantee interoperability and standardization in IT systems. The Foundation has also the role of “Observatory for e-Health” for the Catalan region, exploring and disseminating e-Health-related projects and use of ICT in the health and social care sectors at both national and international level. Also acts as an observatory for trends, innovation and emerging initiatives in the health and social care sector, fostering innovation in the use of ICT as an instrument for the transformation of the healthcare model. FTSS role in this project will be key to identify real-world challenges to be solved in the health area.
Kaunas Science and Technology Park (Kaunas STP) will bring their experience in developing business skills to the creation of the training materials, which means that the materials will be influenced both by the practical experience of the SME’s and the theoretical background that the eHealth offers. Kaunas Science and Technology Park will contribute to new knowledge and expertise on health digitalization for healthier cities through the adaptation of the action learning methodology to better address the needs of entrepreneurs who want to grow their start-up on a European level. Kaunas Science and Technology Park (Kaunas STP) as one of the largest science and business cooperation networks in the Baltic region and connected to an international network of stakeholders will lead WP8 Communication and Dissemination.
Pharmatics is is a private research company specializing in AI for healthcare and precision medicine. Their focus is on precision medicine, digital health, and enrichment of clinical trials, and our developments are based on cutting-edge advances in data sciences and artificial intelligence. They were the lead SME in FP7 MIMOmics (new methods for statistical analysis of -omics data) and Marie-Curie ITN MLPM (machine learning for personalized medicine), and they are at the front line of European research and development in AI for digital health and drug development.
