There are projected to be over 100 million new interconnected healthcare devices introduced with each coming year. An increase in the security of these devices must accompany this rapid growth of the healthcare internet of things. Numerous previous failings due to a lack of security, including remotely hackable insulin pumps and the WannaCry ransomware attack on hospital radiology devices, demonstrate the need for increased cybersecurity of interconnected healthcare devices.
